Hi guys and welcome! We are Steef & Lucy, two Dutch wedding photographers living in Rotterdam in the south-west of the Netherlands. Formerly known as Fotografie Steef Utama we decided to change things a bit and create something new and fresh, something more close to our hearts.
We believe good photography is about telling stories of people. We try to shoot different than most other photographers and like to experiment and search for the right balance in contradictory things. We want our photography to be genuine & pure, romantic & elegant yet bold & raw.

MEET FLWL
We are Steef & Lucy, together since 2009 and deeply in love ever since. Lucy is the more structured and organized one who likes to plan things up ahead, and Steef is the chaotic one who doesn't really plan and just sees where the moment takes him. Together we believe we make quite a good duo with a passion for taking photo's as beautiful as possible, it's as simple as that. And that's just who we are: two people who likes to keep things simple, make lots of fun during this crazy journey called life and bring positivity to the places and people around us.
Photography for us means being able to tell what we feel. And we love to feel love. Most of the times it's hard to explain something in words since words don't always do justice to the beauty of moments. Especially when it comes to conveying feelings and emotions. For those moments we use photography, just so we can capture the feeling that would otherwise be forgotten when time passes.
As happy and crazy we can be in person, as serious and passionate we are about wedding photography. We are happy and privileged to witness and experience beautiful weddings from really close distance, to actually become part of the day and to make some new friends along the way. We want to tell your story and capture all its beauty. We want our images to be genuine & pure, romantic & elegant yet bold & raw. We feel lucky to have found something we really enjoy doing, every single day and this passion is what keeps us going. So let's start a new adventure and make some awesome memories together.

We strive to create something personal and unique at every wedding. For us to stay inspired and creative we have limited the total amount of weddings we cover to +/- 35 weddings a year, from which a max of 10 destination weddings/elopements abroad. We really like to work with couples where we can see and feel the love for each other and who really love our work. Our relationship with our clients is based on trust and our aim is to become friends for the longer run. We do our best to always give you our fullest.
Our photography rates starts from €2195 for 2 photographers. We also offer a fine range of luxury fine-art albums since we believe it's the best way to display the beautiful images. Feel free to contact us for a complete and detailed pricing list.

On a typical wedding day we shoot between the 2000 and 3000 images. We then select and edit the best images and we usually deliver around the 35-50 images an hour depending on the dynamics of the day. We don't deliver the unedited raw images because they will most likely be double/test shots. But don't worry, the images we pick will give a complete view of your beautiful wedding!
How many images do you deliver?

As you can see on our website we have a specific style of editing our images. We like the look and feel of old analog photography because for us it tends to display emotions and ambience more beautiful. We make sure that every image that we deliver will be color corrected in our style. We do not Photoshop body specific characteristics because we like to show the real you and capture your true beauty. We're not specialised in that type of editing!
HOW DO YOU EDIT YOUR IMAGES?

We share the final images within 6-8 weeks through a private online gallery, designed to display the images in a nice and clean way. With the gallery you can view, share and download the images in high quality and it also gives you the possibility to select your favorite images for in the fine-art wedding albums. The gallery will be online for 1 year.
HOW DO WE RECEIVE THE IMAGES?

If you are planning to book us it would be really handy to meet up first. We would like to tell you more about ourselves and would like to get to know you also a bit better! We can discuss the details of your wedding and the ideas and wishes you have. To prepare for the actual wedding we would like to receive your day schedule a few weeks before the wedding so we know what, when and where things will take place.
HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A WEDDING?

Yes! We can imagine that you're not used to being photographed but don't worry! We'll do our best to make our couples look natural in an unforced setting. We have experience in triggering natural reactions and expressions. Steef is the one who usually shoots the image and Lucy is the one who checks if the dress, hair and all the other details look good. All you have to do is to have chemistry between the two of you and the rest will follow :)

HELP US WITH POSING?

It would be appreciated if you could arrange a meal for us just to make sure we have enough energy to make the best photo's for you. A normal and nutricious meal would be just fine, don't overdo it by any means! Also, because we tend to get up often during dinner to take some spontaneous images, we would advise you to place us at a seperate table with visual on your dining space. Otherwise it can be unpleasant for your guests to sit next to empty seats for half of the dinner, and we want everyone to enjoy and engage in fun conversations!

Even though we have won some, for us awards are definitely not our main focus point. We compete from time to time but it is just a way for us to see how our images are rated by an independant jury. To be honest we find it way more important what our clients think of the images. Happy couples are our real awards :)
Besides, for us wedding photography is not about making that one award winning image, it's about making a whole serie of the best images that truly tell your story.

Two pairs of good eyes and a lot of imagination and creativity! And now the serious answer; we use Nikon digital camera's and we have more than enough lenses and other stuff for us to create the images that we want to make. We also use a Minolta analogue camera from time to time and we always bring professional backup gear just in case our primary gear fails. All our camera's have 2 memory card slots, so each image we take is also instantly back-upped, just to make sure!
